Dear emperor
I m asking you on behalf of our kids
Living on this side of the ocean and
beyond
To accept that your new clothes barely
cover
As they say in my language
Your shame.
There’s nothing wrong with being naked
On the contrary
It merges with Genesis and with New Age
as well
It’s only that
You see
It’s one thing to not know you are naked
before falling
And it’s another thing not knowing it
after losing your paradise.
The fall itself is free of memory
It is written in our poor bodies only
Therefore to us, those threw by the
ocean on one shore or the other,
You are actually the chance
To have our own failures mirrored in
you.
You are not the only naked man amongst
us.
Here we are as bare as you.
We tremble and we shiver in The Cold Peace
That ruined our parents’ dream but made
ours even brighter.
Look at us staying here wrapped in our
blind shadows:
It is the very shadow you are veiled in.
You are nothing but our shadow’s cry for
light.
In you it’s our humanity shadow which
demands its tribute.
It’s up to you dear emperor
If this tribute will be a bloody one ore
an enlightening one.
Our children take it as a play
They laugh when they see the naked
emperor
Because they know
No naked man could ever rule the naked
throng.
But for them it’s also an act of courage
To come out (having the gods to let
others see your hidden thruth).
In this country
A land of darkness at the gates of the
West
Or of the East if you like
Our ancestors used to throw a man from
time to time in their arrows
Offering him to their god.
They were doing this laughing. And
knowing that their god would eventually
be kind to them.
Take care you emperor
Do not let yourself caught in the arms
of the fearful crowds which are praising your new inexistent clothes.
They could have caught you just to throw
you out merciless in their arrows.
It happened before.
Better take the children in your arms
On this side of the ocean and on that
side also
And laugh with them:
Yes I am naked as you are naked too.
And here’s your shadow in the spotlight.
Let’s embrace our shadow
Let’s tame it in the pure and loving
light
And listen to its story (for every
shadow has a story).
Let’s give it a hug
Let’s bandage its broken wings
(for in every shadow-story there are
some broken wings)
And let it empower us towards a better version of us
The people from this side and the other
side
Of this big ocean of Hope and Sadness.
